Spyderco Byrd Meadowlark 2 Combination Edge Folding Knife

Already one of the best values in our popular Byrd line, the Meadowlark Lightweight has been completely re-engineered to yield the new, improved Meadowlark 2.

Its many upgrades include a full flat-ground blade for enhanced edge geometry and cutting performance. A Bi-Directional Textured Fibreglass Reinforced Nylon handle that offers a superior grip and increased control. Phosphor bronze pivot washers for even smoother blade opening and closing. Like its predecessor, it also features spine and choil jimping for precise control during use and a four-position pocket clip, allowing the knife to be conveniently carried on either side of the body in either the tip-up or tip-down position.

Improved features at very affordable prices make the Meadowlark 2 Lightweight one of the best values on the market.

Spyderco’s Byrd Meadowlark 2 Combination Knife features a COMBINATIONEDGE grind. This is a cutting edge that is partially PlainEdge and partially Sp  yderEdge (serrated).

Spyderco's Byrd Meadowlark 2 Combination Knife has a Full-Flat blade grind. This blade ground has flat bevels that extend from the spine all the way to the cutting edge. This grind reduces drag during cutting and decreases overall weight.

The Byrd Meadowlark 2 Combination Knife has a Back Lock mechanism, this is positioned on the back of the handle that uses a rocker arm that pivots in the centre. A lug on one end of the arm engages a notch in the blade’s tang to lock the blade open. The Meadowlark also features a Boye Dent, this modification reduces the possibility of gripping the handle hard enough to depress the lock bar and accidentally unlock the blade during use.

The handle is made of FRN (Fibreglass Reinforced Nylon), a nylon polymer mixed with glass fibre that can be injection moulded. Lightweight and extremely strong, it is used in the manufacture of formed, textured knife handles.
