The Persistence is a high comfortable knife that has a milled black G-10 laminate handle, designed with prolonged fatigue-free cutting in mind.
Skeletonised steel liners tucked inside the handle, increase the handle's rigidity and strength level without adding non-functional weight or bulkiness. The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade is a modified skinning-style, ground-flat reducing drag during cutting and decreasing overall weight. Careful positioning of the oversized Spyderco round hole, relative to the location of the pivot, pre-set the hand in just the right spot for fumble-free one-hand blade opening and closing.
Fully sharpened edge from tip to tang generates the most cutting edge possible for the blade's length. A four-position pocket clip allows the knife to be conveniently carried on either side of the body in either the tip-up or tip-down position. Walker Linerlock has a jimped liner to increase the control during use.
The Persistence features a Plain Edge Grind. This is a sharpened edge with no serrations or teeth, sometimes referred to as a "smooth" edge.
The knife boasts a Flat-Ground blade with flat bevels that extend from the spine all the way to the cutting edge. This grind reduces drag during cutting and decreases overall weight.
A locking system developed by custom knifemaker Michael Walker that uses a leaf-like spring split from the liner to wedge laterally against a ramped surface on the tang of the blade.
An epoxy-filled woven glass fibre that is rigid, impervious to temperature changes and chemicals and can be tinted into different colours.
